Hormonal-Induced pigmentation: Melasma
These pigmentations are commonly associated with a fluctuation of hormones (pregnancy, birth control pills, thyroid dysfunction, menopause, or hormone replacement therapy (HRT)) and will worsen with UV exposure. ACNE
Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands are clogged. Oil is a natural substance that lubricates and protects the skin. Under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. Bacteria spreads within Sebaceous Gland and causes surrounding tissues to become inflamed. Inflammatory acnes (Papules, Pustules, Nodules, Cysts) may cause hyperpigmentation or scars.
