Below are the different types and symptoms of Hyperpigmentation:

UV-Induced Hyperpigmentation
These pigmentations are caused by overexposure to sun, tanning beds, and fluorescent and ambient lighting. This type of hyperpigmentation usually presents as diffuse spots or macules that are evenly distributed around the face. This is also referred to as extrinsic hyperpigmentation.
Recommended Treatments:
M22 IPL™ Photofacial
Picoway™ Laser Treatment
Picosure® Pro Laser Treatment
Hollywood Spectra® Laser Treatment

Post-Inflammatory pigmentation (PIH)
PIH is pigment deposited as a result of surface irritation, inflammation, or abrasion of the epidermis. It is characterized by darkened areas at the sites of the trauma. Acne, dermatitis, ingrown hairs, psoriasis, eczema, flexural friction, and bug bites are common triggers.
Recommended Treatments:

Hormonal-Induced pigmentation: Melasma
These pigmentations are commonly associated with a fluctuation of hormones (pregnancy, birth control pills, thyroid dysfunction, menopause, or hormone replacement therapy (HRT)) and will worsen with UV exposure. It appears as large symmetrical bilateral patches with jagged borders typically around the jawline, upper lip, cheeks, and forehead.
Recommended Treatments:

ACNE
Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands are clogged. Oil is a natural substance that lubricates and protects the skin. Under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. Bacteria spreads within Sebaceous Gland and causes surrounding tissues to become inflamed. Inflammatory acnes (Papules, Pustules, Nodules, Cysts) may cause hyperpigmentation or scars.

Acne With Red Marks (PIE)
Pink to red marks following active acne.
Commonly seen in lighter skin type (I – III)
It was caused by dilation & formation of small blood vessels during inflammation.
Recommended Treatments:
M22 IPL™ Photofacial

Acne With Dark Marks (PIH)

Commonly seen in darker skin type (IV – VI)
It was caused by overproduction of melanin (pigment) after inflammation.
Recommended Treatments:
VI Peel

Acne Scars
Acne scars are caused by an under-production (atrophic- Ice Pick, Boxcar, Rolling Scars) or over-production (hypertrophic- Keloid Scars) of collagen during the acne wound-healing process.
Recommended Treatments:
Picosure® Pro Laser Treatment
Picoway™ Laser Treatment
Lumenis ResurFX Laser

Secret RF™ Microneedling
AGING
As our skin ages, there is a natural loss of fat tissue and a shrinking of the bones which lead to sagging, skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles. Sun exposure, unhealthy lifestyle, environmental pollutants and chronic inflammation contribute to extrinsic aging, which decrease the thickness of the epidermis and dermis which lead to abnormal dilation of blood vessels and uneven pigmentation.
Here are the presentations of aging skin:

Skin Flushing/Brushing
Increased skin transparency is a result of the natural and UV-induced thinning of the skin. This transparency causes capillaries to become more visible, leading to an increase in skin redness and visible telangiectasias.
Recommended Treatments:
M22 IPL™ Photofacial
Laser Genesis

Fine Lines/Wrinkles
Fine lines occur naturally over time as collagen production slows and skin hydration decreases. Excessive UV exposure, unhealthy lifestyle and free radical will also cause premature aging of the skin leading to loss of elasticity and wrinkling.
Recommended Treatments:
Picosure® Pro Laser Treatment
Picoway™ Laser Treatment
Lumenis ResurFX Laser
LaseMD Ultra®Skin Resurfacing
Secret RF™ Microneedling
