HOW DOES IT WORK?
The PicoSure Pro is powered by two lenses that work to safely and effectively address a variety of concerns across all skin types.
The advanced Platinum Focus™ Lens delivers up to 20 times the energy of a normal picosecond pulse, leading to the unique creation of intra-epidermal Laser-Induced Optical Breakdowns (LIOBs), which activate the body’s natural healing response to increase collagen and elastin production without the thermal side effects or downtime of other lasers.
The flat lens effectively shatters unwanted pigment into tiny sand-like particles, which are naturally absorbed and removed by the body, to clear epidermal and dermal pigment without harming the surrounding skin.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?
By the time we reach our mid-30s, most people have developed irregular facial pigmentation, discoloration, wrinkles, freckles, or uneven skin tone on their faces due to sun exposure, genetic factors, and environmental pollution. Often, these marks can make people look older, especially when they appear on other areas of the body such as the neck and chest.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Many people ask us if their PicoSure® sessions will hurt. While every person’s pain threshold is different, most of our patients report only a mild sensation, equivalent to the feeling of a rubber band snapping against their skin. Overall, PicoSure® is a mild and comfortable treatment that doesn’t require any numbing, anesthetic, or pre-procedure instructions to follow.
HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT LAST?
Each PicoSure® treatment only takes 20-30 minutes to perform. Most patients need three to six sessions of PicoSure®, four to six weeks apart, to see their desired results. Some treatments, like acne scar reduction, are permanent. Other rejuvenation treatments will last several months at a time but might need periodic maintenance treatments to keep skin looking its best.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
After your PicoSure® session, there is no need to take time off work for healing, and you can resume your normal daily routine. However, it is essential to note the importance of getting into a habit of avoiding excessive sun exposure after getting treatment.
PicoSure® will make your skin more sensitive to the harmful ultraviolet radiation that comes from the sun, so if you don’t want to reverse all the improvements PicoSure® has made to your skin, staying out of the sun is your best course of action. When you do have to spend time outdoors, use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 50, and apply regularly to shield yourself from sun damage.
