Before your laser treatment:

  • A clean shave is REQUIRED on the area you desire treated the day before your treatment.

  • For Laser Hair Removal of the face and neck, avoid any irritants to your face, such as any products containing Hydroquinone, bleaching creams, Retin-A, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic or salicylic acids, astringents, chemical peels for 4 weeks prior to your treatment.

  • For at least 2 weeks, avoid real sun exposure or use self-tanning agents, including bronzers, spray tans, artificial pigments, selftanning lotions.

  • For at least 4 weeks, DO NOT plucking, waxing, use a depilatory or undergo electrolysis on the area you desire treated.

  • NO Accutane 6 months prior to treatment.

  • NO antibiotics 4 weeks prior to your treatment.

  • Make-up, lotion, body oil, perfume, deodorant and jewelry on the treatment area(s) MUST be removed prior to your treatment.

  • If you have a history of Herpes Simplex Virus or cold sores, you must pre-medicate one day prior to treatment to prevent further outbreaks.

  • If you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant, or breastfeeding you are NOT a good candidate for laser hair removal.

  • Please inform your technician of all current/changes to your medications four (4) weeks prior to your scheduled treatment. Certain medications may cause your skin to be more sensitive to both sunlight and laser light. For your safety, we need to be aware of any medications you are presently taking.

 

After your laser treatment:

  • Immediately after treatment, there should be erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site which may last 2 hours to several days. The erythema may last up to 2-4 days. The treated area can feel like a sunburn for several hours after, up to the next day sometimes.

  • If the treated area still feels hot after few hours, apply cold packs up to 3 times a day. Do NOT allow ice packs or ice into direct contact with the skin.

  •  It's recommend to apply Aloe Vera or  Hydrocortisone1% post treatment up to 4 times daily for a soothing cooling effect.

  • Rarely, minor epidermal blistering may occur in which case  antiobotic ointment may be applied twice a day to the affected areas. If this should happen, please contact our office immediately and our aesthetician will give you further instructions.

  • After the axillas (underarms) are treated, wait few hours until any sign of redness has vanished before you use deodorants.

  • Avoid any activities that will cause sweating (i.e. exercising, hot shower, hot saunas etc.) for a minimum 12 hours.

  • NO irritants (i.e. glycolics, acids, retinoids, etc.) for 7 days after treatment.

  • NO plucking, waxing, using a depilatory or undergo electrolysis in between treatments. If needed, the only other acceptable hair removal method is shaving.

  • Apply sunscreen daily. It should be at least SPF 30 protects UVA/UVB and contains the physical blockers zinc oxide and titanium oxide. It is recommened to use SPF 50 in the first two weeks after your laser treatment.

  • It may take 1-3 weeks for the dead hairs to shed out of the follicles. It’s recommended that you gently exfoliate the treated area about 7 days after your treatment, 2-3 times a week. Apply moisturizer after exfoliating to help skin replenish.
